This coming Saturday evening (04/07) we will be returning to duty in Cheltenham's night time economy providing safeguarding and welfare services to vulnerable individuals.
In the short to medium term the dynamics of our shifts will be quite different to what we are used to. The most noticeable changes will be the times we operate, the geographical area we cover and of course the focus on COVID-19 risk mitigation.
We are confident that we can adapt to any given situation, incident or emergency faced thanks to extensive planning.
We have introduced extra and enhanced PPE (personal protective equipment) so that we may operate in a more controlled environment whilst the threat of COVID-19 infection/transmission is still present. Our duty of care for the safety of our service users, service delivery partners and volunteers remains paramount and we will conduct ourselves in such a manner at all times to reflect this.
We hope that those who choose to enjoy Cheltenham's night time economy from the 4th of July do so in a safe and measured manner. We urge those out to be respectful of restrictions introduced by venues and to listen to any advice given by venue staff or the police. There will be emergency resources on hand to provide aid and assistance as and where required but these will not be needed if sensible moderation ensues.
